LAWS NEEDED TO RESTORE PROPERTY
THE UNALIENABLE RIGHTS
FOUNDATION [URF] WILL BE ASKING CONGRESS
AND THE VIRGINIA GENERAL ASSEMBLY FOR LEGISLATION
TO STOP THE USE OF EMINENT DOMAIN FOR
UNALIENABLE RIGHTS FOUNDATION
"Today is another sad day for the Bill of Rights. The historic freedom
to own real property dating more than two millennia has been sharply curtailed
by the Supreme Court decision in the City of New London case.
Now, every neighborhood in America may be bulldozed and the owners run off at
the whim of the powerful and the wealthy no matter the grace, style or
usefulness of one's property. The "public use" limitation on the use
of eminent domain has effectively been erased from the Fifth Amendment.
In abdicating its constitutional role in enforcing the Bill of Rights, the
Supreme Court's majority decision states it will leave the proper limits on the
power of States to the state legislatures to determine for themselves. The fox
is entirely in charge of the hen house now.
The UNALIENABLE RIGHTS FOUNDATION [URF] will be taking its message of
freedom for property owners directly to the Congress and the Virginia General
Assembly to try to recoup some of the constitutional liberties that the United
States Supreme Court has abolished today.
Someday the American Constitution will return from its long exile imposed by
20th Century socialism. Because history teaches that economic and personal
freedom is the only way to a better, more productive future."
